Irish Co-operative Futures Conference - SAVE THE DATE
As we hold our discussions during Ireland’s hosting of the EU Presidency, it is an important and once-in-a-generation opportunity for Irish co-operators to amplify their voice in a way that ensure as many policymakers as possible can see the value of the co-operative movement’s historically proven approach to shaping or local and transnational economies.
The centrepiece of the day shall be a keynote address from the President of Co-operative Europe, Giuseppe Guerini. We are honoured to hear from a deeply knowledgeable and engaging speaker who will place our conference’s main themes within the current European context.
The event will also be the occasion of the launch of "Co-operation Between Co-operators: A Policy Briefing for Ireland" by Patrick Doyle (University of Limerick) and Tiziana O’Hara (Co-operative Alternatives). This document offers some policy recommendations drawing on a series of workshops and events that have taken place across Ireland in the past 18 months and which offers some lessons and directions policymakers and co-operators should take to democratise our island’s economy.
More information on speakers, themes and registration will follow, but for now: save the date.
