5 years of supporting co-operatives
On International Co-operative Day, Co-operative Alternatives launched “Our impact – 5 years of progress” . The infographics sum up the contribution we made to the local co-operative economy via our support programmes, training and advice service. “Five years ago, we were asked “why a co-operative?” said Tiziana O’Hara at the launch with Nigel McKinney from the Building Change Trust “Now, groups are approaching us asking “how do we set up one?” We are proud to have turned the tide on this one.” In the past 5 years, Co-operative Alternatives met with over 300 groups and held 70 workshops from co-operative governance to finance. Demand for specialised support continue to increase and with £709,950 raised in community shares from 1902 members in just 5 years, we are celebrating today the impact this has had in the local co-operative economy.
