Upcoming Training and Awareness Raising Session for Aspiring Co-operators
The Co-operative Alternatives programme of support for existing and emerging co-operatives in Northern Ireland includes a series of virtual/in-person training sessions on co-operative skills for co-operatives.
These sessions and events aim to provide valuable knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities to support existing and emerging co-operatives. This is part of the Belfast City Council Support Programme for SE and Co-operatives.
Here some initial dates:
1 Introduction to Co-ops: This session provides an overview of what you need to know if you want to set up a co-op. 26th October 2023, 12.00 noon to 2.00pm.
2 Governance: Sociocracy for Co-operatives: This session focuses on the governance structure of co-operatives and how Sociocracy can be applied. This session is facilitated by Joanna McMinn. 7th November 2023, 12.00 noon to 2.00pm.
3 Co-ops for Urban Farmers and/or Food Retailers: This event focuses on co-operatives in the context of urban farming and/or food retailing. 15th November 2023, 12.00 noon to 1.30pm.
4 Governance: Good Practice for Societies’ Directors: This session explores good governance practices for directors of co-operative societies. 5th December 2023, 12.00 noon- 2.00pm.
