Founder members of the community co-operative

Edenderry Village Energy Ltd, a newly established community co-operative by local residents, in a public meeting, discussed how they could provide long-term reliable heating to the village at a lower cost than oil and gas.

On the 16thOct, the three founder members, supported by Co-op Alternatives, organised the public event and presented the results of the initial feasibility study carried out by GeoServ. The residents joining the project will have the opportunity to be part of this unique community energy project in NI, decarbonize heat and lower carbon emissions by one third, employ new technologies like heat pumps and utilize natural sources, the nearby Lagan, and save some money on energy bills.
