Agroecology in NI: Who Are They?

A new and energising movement is taking shape across Northern Ireland, and it is one we are excited to spotlight. Connecting Agroecology NI is bringing together growers, citizens, and community co-operatives and groups who are building a fairer, more resilient food system from the ground up. Their message is simple and powerful: the seeds of change are already here:  in market gardens, community farms, greengrocers, shared meals and neighbourhood growing spaces. The network, driven by Beth Bell and Lee Robb from Carrick Greengrocers and Barry Ferguson from Ben Vista CSA, is creating a home for collaboration, shared resources and peer support, helping people across NI connect their efforts and strengthen the agroecological movement. It is a space for anyone who believes our food system can work better for everyone, and we will be keeping a close eye on how this grows as well as support them as much as we can.
