Community Farming in NI
What is community farming? It is a ‘process of collaborative transformation at the intersection of land, community, and enterprise’. This is a working definition that the participants in the Cultivating Community Farming project 2022- 2024, sponsored by Co-op Foundation, come up with while developing their own community farms.
An academic paper has now been published in Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems and Community Development (JAFSCD) to build on that learning. The paper highlights the findings and the impacts of the project. The article was written by Jonny Hanson (QUB), Tiziana O’Hara (Co-op Alternatives), Ciaran Collins (CiCO Consulting) and Matthew Williams (Jubilee Farm).
