Training available: Upskilling Local Food Initiatives with the Solidarity Network in Ireland (solidnetwork.ie). Co-op Alternatives is a member of the network with Cloughjordan Community Farm, Open Food Network Ireland, Dublin Food Co-op and many others.

The full 6 modules are designed to build the capacity of the Boards, staff and the stakeholders of regenerative, co-operative and community-led food initiatives. They are offered in association with Urgenci, the international grassroot network of all forms of regional and Local Solidarity-based Partnerships for Agroecology (LSPAs) –https://urgenci.net/

This is a capacity building course  and will be held online

Every Wednesday at 15.00 – 17.00 from 25th January to 1st March 2023

The first module of this 6 module course was successfully delivered by members of the Solid Network on the 25thJan who introduced the values and opportunities in Cooperatives and the Solidarity Economy. Dr Kevin Flanagan explained what is solidarity economy and the impact of the Solidarity Network  in Ireland (solidnetwork.ie), one of many across Europe. In addition to that, case studies on the Belfast Cleaning Co-op and the Dublin Food Co-op were presented as well a brief overview on how successful community shares initiatives have been in Northern Ireland by Co-op Alternatives. This session was recorded and will be available on Urgenci website soon  https://urgency.net/
